The UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation is proud to be the recipient of a generous contribution made by the residents and campers of the Goddard Park Vacationland Campground in Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania. Funds were raised by the campers through a variety of charitable activities, and the ultimately the participants were able to contribute more than $10,000 to the Dr. Edgardo Lob Memorial Cancer Care Fund at the Foundation, which the campers selected out of a desire to support patients receiving cancer treatment at the Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Horizon – Greenville hospital in Mercer County.
The Dr. Edgardo Lob Memorial Cancer Care Fund is named in honor of Dr. Edgardo Lob (1958-2021), who dedicated his career to helping those around him fight cancer. Dr. Lob was known for his personable and caring manner towards his patients and fellow healthcare providers, and the Fund honors his legacy by providing support to local patients and their families as well as supporting cancer research.
