On Friday, May 10th, Grove City Middle School students were treated to a visit from UPMC Horizon and Jameson nurse educators during a career day. Approximately one hundred and fifty students in seventh and eighth grade were provided with CPR, AED, and Stop the Bleed (controlling bleeding) training by Johanna Sanders and Michele Albaugh, part of a program illustrating common procedures that nurses use in their daily practice. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and were encouraged to learn about health care careers as a potential career path.
Each student received a drawstring bag provided by the UPMC Horizon and Jameson Foundations. The Foundations remain committed to encouraging local students to consider a future in a health care-related career.
