The UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation and the UPMC Jameson Health Care Foundation are proud to announce the addition of Dr. David Wood to the Board of Directors of both Foundations.
Dr. Wood is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Otolaryngology. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he obtained a Master of Science degree in toxicology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then graduated from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his residency training at the Cleveland Clinic and spent four years on active duty with the U.S. Navy in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dr. Wood specializes in otolaryngology and is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He practices at UPMC Horizon and is affiliated with both UPMC Horizon and UPMC Jameson.
He is involved with the family practice residency at UPMC Horizon and is an adjunct clinical professor at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine as well as the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. His clinical interests are general otolaryngology, otolaryngic allergy, and sino-nasal disorders.
Dr. Wood is active in his community in Sharon, PA, where he lives with his wife, Amy. He has three children, all currently working in or studying to join the medical field. Dr. Wood also currently serves on the board of the Buhl Club in Sharon.
