Join us in celebrating the winners of this year’s Outstanding Preceptor Awards! These exceptional preceptors, dedicated nurses within the UPMC Horizon and UPMC Jameson hospital systems, have made a significant impact on the education and training of senior nursing students during their final clinical rotations.
Throughout the past year, 82 nursing students from four different schools had the opportunity to gain invaluable real-world experience under the guidance of these outstanding preceptors. These mentors not only imparted their knowledge and skills but also provided the support and encouragement necessary for these students to thrive in their nursing journey.
The selection process for the Outstanding Preceptor Awards was based on nominations from the nursing students themselves. Each student had the chance to nominate the preceptor they felt had gone above and beyond in their teaching and support. The number of nominations received reflects the profound influence these preceptors had on the lives and careers of these aspiring nurses.
We are delighted to announce this year’s well-deserved winners:
- Briann DeAngio (UPMC Horizon Labor and Delivery)
- Renay Kondrasuk (UPMC Jameson CCU)
- Cynthia Nuzzo (UPMC Jameson 3SE)
- Paul Fedorchak (UPMC Jameson Emergency Department)
- Leslee Segoviano (UPMC Horizon Operating Room)
Each winner received a gift certificate from the Foundations as a token of appreciation for their outstanding dedication to nursing education. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each of them for their well-earned recognition!
