The UPMC Horizon and Jameson Foundations are proud to celebrate two students at the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing who recently received scholarships made possible by donors to the Foundations.
Brianna Nicodemus was selected as this year’s recipient of the Janet L. Shannon Memorial Scholarship, which was established by the Shannon Family to honor Janet, a graduate of the School of Nursing who later became an instructor. The Scholarship is awarded annually to a second-year nursing student who exemplifies the qualities Janet Shannon displayed, including academic achievement, nursing excellence, kindness, and dedication to others.
Brittany Wooley was selected to receive the Friends of Hospice scholarship, made possible by the local Friends of Hospice chapter and awarded to a student with an interest in hospice care and who best demonstrates the character, skill and personal qualities needed to be an excellent provider of hospice care to patients.
These scholarships are among those made possible thanks to the generosity of individuals, families and organizations dedicated to supporting the next generation of nurses pursuing their education at the Jameson School of Nursing.
