The Foundations hosted the 2025 Golf Care Classic on June 16th at the Avalon at Buhl Country Club in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. 35 teams of golfers participated in a day of golf, networking and enjoyment while helping raise funds to support the Foundations’ charitable mission.
More than $170,000 was contributed to this year’s event!
The event was won by the team from Joseph’s Marketplace, including Bill Presnar, Joseph Presnar, Walt DeMase & Hunter Turk. In second place was the team from UPMC Northwest Orth/Sports Medicine, made up of Rob Woods, Charlie Woods, Curt Anderson & Todd Garrett. Third place was taken by the team of Patrick Murphy, Marty McGonigle, Tyler Gargano & John Matune from McGonigle Ambulance.
As in previous years, the top three teams were able to designate a portion of the proceeds of the event to specific Foundation initiatives. $7,500 was designated to the Foundations’ Oncology Patient Care Funds, while $5,000 was allocated to the Foundations’ General Fund and $2,500 was designated to the Children’s Fund.
This year’s event featured a skins competition, won by the team from Groover Roofing and Siding, who generously donated $600 in winnings back to the Foundations.
The event was generously supported by dozens of organizations and individuals who participated in or sponsored the outing. Rycon Construction served as the Event Sponsor, while Bruce & Merrilees supported the event as the Mission and Impact Sponsor. Lunch was sponsored by the Medical Staff of UPMC Horizon and Jameson, and Joseph’s Marketplace was this year’s Appetizer Sponsor. The Foundations offer their deep appreciation and gratitude to every sponsor and participant who helped make the event a success.
This year’s event was made possible by the team of volunteers from UPMC Horizon and Jameson who generously volunteered at the event. In addition, the Foundations specifically thank the members this year’s Golf Committee, consisting of Kelly Haux, Adam Shrawder, Bryan Williams, Doug Arena, Natalie Zgurich, Phil Rozic, Rebekah Kennedy, Scott Graubard, Zach Lenhart and Dave Patton.
