The UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation and UPMC Jameson Health Care Foundation celebrated another successful year of community support and fundraising at their annual charity golf outing held at the Avalon Country Club in Hermitage, PA on June 17. The 2024 Golf Care Classic welcomed more than 150 golfers, volunteers and guests for a warm, sunny day of golf, networking and support for the Foundations’ mission to improve community health in and around Mercer and Lawrence Counties. More than $130,000 was contributed by local organizations, businesses, and individuals to support this year’s event.
The winners of the 2024 Golf Care Classic were a team sponsored by the Hudson Companies, including Jonathan Hudson, Zach Lenhart, Willie Pletcher and Brooks Pletcher. In second place was a team from McGonigle Ambulance, featuring Patrick Murphy, Tyler Gargano, Marty McGonigle and John Matune. In third place was the team from Groover Roofing and Siding, including Patsy Maxim, Brian Groover, James Maxim and Jamie Wilkins. The Groover team also won the event’s skins competition, the proceeds of which it generously donated back to the Foundations. The Foundations congratulate each of these teams for their success.
