Our Programs
Your tax-deductible gift to the Horizon and Jameson Health Foundations stays in Mercer and Lawrence Counties to support regional community health. The Foundations offer a variety of initiatives you can support to make a direct impact on community health.
Scholarships
Scholarships at the UPMC Horizon and Jameson Foundations provide support local healthcare professionals and students pursuing an education in a healthcare field. Scholarships also support students at the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing.
General Fund
The General Fund provides funding for various hospital, employee or community needs addressed by the UPMC Horizon and Jameson Foundation. This fund seeks to support general community health, local health initiatives and organizations, and programs not otherwise supported by a specific designation.
Medical Equipment Recycling Program (MERP)
MERP provides refurbished medical equipment at no cost to individuals within UPMC Horizon’s service area who lack insurance coverage or the means to buy new medical devices. The program provides independence, safety, and peace of mind to recipients.
Cancer Care Funds
The Horizon and Jameson Foundations are proud to host several funds which support patients receiving care for cancer and local UPMC Hillman Cancer Centers, including the Dr. Edgardo Lob Cancer Care Fund, the Patient Experience Fund, and the Jameson Junior Guild Fund.
Memorial Fund
The Memorial Fund offers families the opportunity to purchase a memorial in honor of a loved one or friend at the UPMC Horizon – Shenango Valley or UPMC Horizon – Greenville campuses.
Employee Contribution Fund
The Employee Contribution Fund provides assistance to local UPMC employees facing a severe and unexpected financial difficulty or hardship.
Makenna's HUGS
The McKenna’s HUGS Fund was established to provide support for families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or early newborn death, and provides assistance and consultations during a difficult time.
Patient Transportation
The Foundations’ Patient Transportation Fund serves an important role for some of the most vulnerable members of our local community by assisting patients with transportation to local UPMC health care facilities.
Discharge Resource Fund
The Discharge Resource Fund provides assistance and access to resources for vulnerable patients who may not be able to afford the medication or equipment they need to be safely discharged from a hospital.
